This is your chance to gain real-world experience, grow your professional network, and contribute directly to high-level decision-making within a respected financial institution.

What You’ll Do:

  • Attend Board Meetings: Participate in all Board of Directors meetings—virtually or in person—and offer your perspective as a student voice. (4th Thursday of each month)
  • Potential to Attend Committee Meetings: Various times during the year.
  • Join Strategic Offsites: Contribute to key conversations during our annual strategic planning event. (typically held in January)
  • Collaborate on Projects: Work alongside Board members on real business and finance initiatives.
  • Build Relationships: Connect with seasoned professionals and mentors committed to your growth.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Hands-On Experience: Learn how a credit union operates at the leadership level.
  • Professional Mentorship: Receive guidance and advice from Board members and executives.
  • Networking Opportunities: Build valuable connections in the financial and business sectors.
  • Resume-Boosting Role: Demonstrate initiative and leadership experience to future employers.
  • A Real Voice: Play an active role in shaping ideas and strategies for the future of APL FCU.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A current college student, Graduate or Under Graduate, interested in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Curious, driven, and eager to learn.
  • Comfortable participating in discussions and contributing ideas.
  • Passionate about community engagement and leadership development.
  • APL Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial institution that operates in the best interest of its members. The Credit Union’s Board of Directors is made up entirely of your fellow APL FCU members, who help guide the direction of the Credit Union on behalf of the entire membership. The Junior Associate Volunteer (JAV) must be a member of APL Federal Credit Union or eligible to become a member.
