Associate Volunteers Needed

Unlike for-profit banks, which serve in the best interest of their shareholders, APL Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial institution that operates in the best interest of its members. The Credit Union’s Board of Directors is made up entirely of your fellow APL FCU members, who help guide the direction of the Credit Union on behalf of the entire membership.

If you would like to play a part in helping the Credit Union grow, and to ensure its continued success into the future, APL FCU’s Board could use your help.

We are looking for a few members to serve as Associate Volunteers. This position provides an opportunity for interested members to learn about the board process and gain an educational background on the internal policies and procedures of APL FCU. Associate Volunteers are given an opportunity to see what the Board Director position entails, before making a full commitment to APL FCU as potential candidates to fill future vacancies on the Board.

The position requires a minimal time commitment. Like regular Directors on the Board, Associate Volunteers attend and participate in one board meeting each month. They also review the Credit Union’s monthly financial package to stay abreast of lending, investment and operational trends of APL FCU, while potentially serving on committees as appointed by the Board Chair.
