SPECIALTY LOANS

Unimproved Land Loan - For members who are interested in purchasing land with the intent to build a future residence, APL Federal Credit Union offers an unimproved land loan at a competitive, fixed rate. APLFCU does not charge any points and there is no pre-payment penalty. APL Federal Credit Union must be the first lienholder.

  • The maximum term is 12 years
  • Available loan amounts from $50,000 up to 500,000 (80% of purchase price or appraised value, whichever is less)
  • A down payment of 20% is required
  • The current rate corresponds to the prevailing rate offered on the 12-year Mini Home Equity Loan
  • Available for properties in MD, VA, WV, DE, PA or DC
  • Borrowers are responsible for expenses related to the processing of the loan


Real Estate Bridge Loan - A short-term cash loan to enable a member to close on the anticipated purchase of a new primary home before the sale of their current residence. Applicants must have contracts on both properties with all outstanding contingencies satisfied.

  • Low fixed rate offered in 30-day increments
  • Single payment due in 60 days
  • Available for properties in MD, VA, WV, DE, PA or DC
  • Loan amounts from $35,000 up to $500,000 (90% of the contract price of home being sold minus any liens)
  • No prepayment penalty
  • No origination fee
